Cloudflare Clef Omni — multimodal System One decisions on Workers AI

Clef Omni (@cf/cloudflare/clef-omni) is Cloudflare's multimodal decision model: text or JSON state plus optional images, audio and video, returning probabilities for Noul, Choice and Score. $0.15 per million input tokens, 64K context, output uncharged. Optio documents it; Optio's hosted API still defaults to Jev.

What Clef Omni is

Clef Omni is a Cloudflare-hosted multimodal decision model built on a 30B-parameter mixture-of-experts backbone with about 3B active parameters. You send a state and a schema of typed questions; it returns a probability for every allowed option. Vision is supported. Context window on the Workers AI card is 64,000 tokens.

Pricing and billing notes

Unit pricing on Cloudflare's model card is $0.15 per million input tokens. Clef converts media to input tokens and does not charge for output tokens. Images are patched into tokens (capped around 1,024 tokens per image after resize rules); audio is about 780 tokens per minute; video can reach thousands of tokens per minute depending on resolution. Media counts toward the context window with the questions.

How to call it (Cloudflare)

Via Workers AI: env.AI.run('@cf/cloudflare/clef-omni', { model: 'clef-omni', state, questions }) or POST .../ai/run/@cf/cloudflare/clef-omni with a token that can invoke Workers AI. Questions use the shared Noul / Choice / Score shapes. Optional images, audio and video arrays are Clef extensions — remote URLs are not accepted; embed bytes instead.

Sample request shape

A minimal text call looks like: state = "Checkout has been failing for every customer for the last hour.", questions.urgent = { type: "noul", instructions: "Is this support request urgent?" }, questions.team = { type: "choice", criteria: { billing, technical, sales } }, questions.severity = { type: "score", criteria: ["No impact", "Minor", "Major", "Critical"] }. That matches Optio's support-triage style use case even though the hosted Optio key path still targets Jev.

Optio vs calling Clef directly

Optio's production gateway defaults to typesafe/jev-1.14.0 and sells Jev credits. This page exists because Clef Omni is callable on the same Cloudflare AI surface and people comparing System One models need real pricing and call notes. To run Clef Omni today, call Cloudflare Workers AI with your own account; do not expect an Optio API key to select @cf/cloudflare/clef-omni.

Independent gateway notice

Optio is an independently operated access gateway for calling Jev. It is not affiliated with TypeSafe or with Cloudflare's Clef product marketing. Facts above come from Cloudflare's Workers AI clef-omni documentation.

FAQ

Can I call Clef Omni with an Optio API key?
No. Optio keys authorize the Jev systemone route. Call @cf/cloudflare/clef-omni with a Cloudflare Workers AI credential if you need Clef Omni itself.
How does Clef Omni compare to Jev 1.14?
Both speak typed decision questions. Clef Omni adds native multimodal inputs on Cloudflare's own stack at $0.15/M input; Jev 1.14 on Optio is the hosted Jev path at $0.042/M input with experimental image/Box notes on its own landing.
What use case should I try first?
Start with support triage — the same urgent / team / severity pattern shown in Cloudflare's sample and on Optio's /use-cases/support-triage page.
Is this the official Cloudflare Clef site?
No. This is an independent documentation page on Optio summarizing Cloudflare's public model card so decision-model buyers can compare options without an empty stub.
